My Philosophy of education has changed over the years and bends and molds to the trends of the time. I believe that each student has potential and it takes  a combined effort of teacher, parent and student to help reach that  potential.

I know that learning takes place in many different ways and that all students come to me at different levels and with different learning styles. It is my job to try to find their best learning style and give them opportunities to learn using their preferred style. In order for them to grow I  also must introducing them to other styles. I truly believe student growth should be the measure of success not a designated score on a test.

In my classroom you will find cooperative group for students need to work together. There are times when a student is required to work independently for when doing so the students gains self reliance and independence. Per tutoring is used on occasion as well. You learn the material if you have to teach it. Technology in today's society is a must! Students respond to the fast pace of the computer, it fosters creativity, and puts the world at our finger tips.

The most important thing a child needs is to feel safe. My students know even if they do not follow direction that I care for them and I will do anything to keep them from getting hurt. I my class they should feel free to give their opinions with out fear, and that if we make mistakes we learn from them teachers and students alike.

Here is a link to my reflection on ITEC 501. Though this course didn't change my educational philosophy it did help me grow professionally.
