My name is Connie
Barnes I am a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. After
18 years of teaching and raising three children who are also college
graduates I am in the process of getting a Masters of Education in
Diverse Populations. For the past ten years I have taught fourth or
fifth grade and I have tried to keep up with
technology. I have also tried to use technology of many kinds in my
classroom but I was never what you might call a "Tech Wiz". I often
called on my fellow teachers for help. Taking ITEC 501at the
University of Mary Washington, during the spring of 2207, has change
my teaching in more ways than what is shown here.
This ePortfolio is the evidence of my being stretched
beyond what I imagined ! It was not a process without stress and
doing these activities with seventy-five fourth grade history
students was a challenge! In my ePortfolio you find my
philosophy of education. tutorials that I think are helpful, lesson
plans, examples of student work done by following the lesson plans
and resources I used to create the lessons. Though they were created
for fourth grade Virginia History I think they could be adapted to
most grade levels. I feel the work put into these lessons was well
worth it and I know my students were engaged learners through out
each process.
