Tutorials

Each section is organized to serve as a tutorial. The tutorial pages are organized constructively, with the most basic concepts covered first and building to more advanced concepts as you go. Following this constructivist organization, each of the tutorials on APA style assumes that you already have the background knowledge of the preceding tutorials. There are four tutorials on APA style:

  • APA Orientation - definitions of key terms and guide to using the APA Manual
  • APA Basic - The most basic elements of APA style that everyone should know
  • APA: Using the Manual
  • APA: Organization
  • APA Advanced Basic - More basic elements of APA style that all EDCI 590 students should know.
  • APA Advanced - Information on APA style that most faculty expect EDCI 590 students to know.

In each of the tutorials, you can review basic concepts, study accompanying examples, and take short quizzes to check your readiness for proceeding on your own.

You may take the quiz at the end of a tutorial as a pretest to determine whether you need to brush up on the information presented in that tutorial or already have the background needed to proceed to the next level.
