Alright, I'll admit it.  My first name is actually Akemi and the last name Parker, but it is hard to pass up alliteration! 

This ePortfolio is the culmination of work and assignments that I have completed in my technology course at the University of Mary Washington's College of Graduate and Professional Studies campus.  Although basic in format and layout concerning the design, I have focused the bulk of this work on my current experiences as a Kindergarten teacher aide at Lake Ridge.  More importantly, I am building a foundation for my future career as an elementary educator.

Included in this portfolio are several things:

•  My current philosophy of education.  As I have been told and actually experienced even during my first semester in this program, philosophies will often fluctuate!

•  National and Virginia standards of technology.

•  Assignments I have completed using various Microsoft programs.

•  Lesson plans that integrate technology by using these programs.  They are aimed at an elementary level; specifically 2nd and 3rd grade.

•  A comparison of several search engines using several criteria such as format, user friendliness, and results. 

•  My resume

•  A reflection paper discussing the technology objectives I have fulfilled as well as how the lesson plans I have created reflect my philosophy of education.
