  • Excel - This spreadsheet was created to organize the results of a mid-year math assessment. I was also able to analyze the data further using a chart. This allowed me to focus my future instruction on the concepts that were difficult for a majority of my students. An explanation of my findings can be found here.
  • Excel - In this Valentine's Day math lesson, students recorded and interpreted data using a box of conversation hearts. After they organized the contexts of the box, they entered the data into an Excel spreadsheet template and calculated the sums for each heart color. Finally, students compared results with a classmate. A sample of student work can be found here.

  • PowerPoint - This presentation was created so that students could learn and review the Moon. It includes an embedded video from United Streaming, key vocabulary, bulleted information, an animated chart, and other media components.
  • PowerPoint - In this social studies lesson, students chose a famous American to study in order to create a research-based PowerPoint presentation using a template. Ultimately, students were able to present their work to the class. A sample of student presentation can be found here.

  • Access - This database roster includes student information such as their full name, gender, birth date, and address. Once the table was completed, I was able to create a report and perform queries for students' birthday and gender.

  • Access - This social studies lesson was a continuation of the their research on famous Americans. Students worked in groups to gather information such as their American's full name, year of birth, year of death, and occupation. Then, each group entered the information into our class database. Once it was complete, students created reports that served as reference tools throughout our unit of study. To view our database and a sample report, click here.

  • Telecommunications
    • Part 1 - For this assignment, I participated in an online chat session with three of my classmates. We used Tapped In as our meeting place to discuss articles relating to the topic of 21st century skills. To view an edited transcript of this session, click here.
    • Part 2 - For this assignment, I participated in an online discussion with my group members. We used Blackboard as our meeting place to discuss the work of Donald Schon. To view an edited transcript of our discussion, click here.
  • Telecommunications - In this writing lesson, students used the ePals program to communicate with students from another country. To complete the assignment, students had to compose friendly letters. Once edited and finalized, they were allowed to email their letters to their ePal.
